RULE 07: START TODAY.

RULE 06: LOVE THE CHAOS.

Control what you can, enjoy the ride with everything else.

I try to create something every day. I don’t always set aside time properly, and when I don’t, I can really feel it. I was thinking about this recently and asked myself why. While prioritizing the act of creating in my life, I realized that looking at why I create is more helpful than looking at what I create. Here are 9 reasons why I create. Why do you create?

RULE 05: PLAY.

RULE 04: TASTE IS KING.

Right now, taste is more valuable than talent.

RULE 02: WORK WORK WORK.

Thanks to Seth Godin, when anyone says “I don’t have any good ideas,” I reply, “Do you have any bad ideas?”

Quantity leads to quality. It is as simple as that.

Rule 01: FOCUS.

Put on your blinders and turn off your phone. Distraction is the enemy of creativity. Multitasking and interruptions pull you away from your deep thought and out of your flow state.
